  MGT 193.10 - New Venture and Tactical Planning
Description
Theory and practice of new venture planning. Focus is on development of a business concept; analysis of the industry environment and target market; assessment of the competition; and the creation of a complete business plan. Students start with an idea and work with it though the planning, feasibility, and funding stages.

Objectives

  • To discover and use diverse resources to develop an understanding of the tactical business planning process.
  • To understand the critical factors required to transform an idea into a successful business.
  • To develop competencies in the areas of new venture concept development, creation of a value proposition, industry and competition analysis, marketing and sales, organization and personnel planning, financial management, and venture funding.
  • To create and present a comprehensive business plan.
