Who We Are:
The Entrepreneurship & Small Business Program here at The George Washington University is an exciting and dynamic course concentration due to hands-on learning, individually tailored curriculums, and real business experience. More about the program.

What We Can Do For You

Dynamic Curriculum
The field is designed to prepare students for careers in small and medium sized businesses, consulting firms, and in entrepreneurial organizations. The concentration has been designed to permit the student to customize his or her program depending upon the specific area that the student is interested in and his/her end goals. Emphasis is on practical experience by consulting with local businesses or projects with global businesses. The Director of the Entrepreneurship Program, Dr. Charles Toftoy, meets with every student individually to specifically tailor their curriculum with the end goals in mind.

Classes Offered
Courses offered cover all aspects of the field including: Small Business Management; Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation; Venture Capital; Family Business Strategies; Consultative Processes in Organizations; Emerging Technologies; Entrepreneurship; New Venture Initiation; Strategic Entrepreneurship; Buyer Behavior; Selling and Sales Management; and Marketing Research. The Strategic Entrepreneurship capstone course is truly innovative in that all work is done with a different outside business each week at their place of business. Students truly get to see the issues and problems that entrepreneurs face each day in a broad range of businesses.
