Anna Adams-Kayes

Dr. Anna Adams- Kayes is a full-time professor of management in the Business School at Villa Julie College in Baltimore, Maryland and works part-time as a professor of management for The William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan and with executive programs at The George Washington University. She received her doctorate in Human and Organizational Studies from The George Washington University. Dr. Adams-Kayes is an expert on leadership processes such as how leaders exert influence and motivate others. In particular, the use of power and trust dynamics and how people learn from experience.  She has over twelve years of experience consulting in organizational behavior and human resources. Her research has appeared in a number of book chapters, journals, and conferences. The journals include work in the Journal of Management Education, Journal of Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Simulation and Gaming and Performance Improvement Quarterly. In addition to her position in academics, Dr. Kayes co-owns the Oakton Group, which consults for a variety of organizations including international banking, local and federal government, technical services and manufacturing industries. Some of her clients include the U.S. Navy, Mellon Bank of New York, Canon, Inc., Oracle Corp., The Hay Group, the Virginia Quality Institute, H. P. Warshaw, and the City of Chesapeake. Dr. Adams-Kayes’ consulting is in leadership development and human resource system development. Her research focuses on micro-dynamics in organizations, and how leaders can optimally manage human systems.
