 As Director of the Center for the Advancement of Small Business (CASB), allow me to welcome you to our home page. This is an important time for all of us in the U.S. workforce today. Many changes are taking place. For example, every 30 seconds someone receives a pink slip in large U.S. corporations due to downsizing. On a brighter note small businesses are growing rapidly. In fact, small businesses provided virtually all of the net new jobs from 1987 to 1992 and were 99.7% of all employers in 1992. Here at CASB, our mission is to promote growth in small businesses by providing affordable, long-term solutions to the problems confronting small business owners. CASB is dedicated to fostering interaction between the academic community and small businesses. Resources from The George Washington University and corporate sponsors are combined to provide low-cost, high quality assistance and to promote research that benefits small businesses.I welcome you to take full advantage of the wealth of information provided on this home page.
